This is massive people!

Following an Emergency Meeting held on a Saturday afternoon - in the Clubhouse with a couple of pints being supped - we have some major news to announce to the local community today and although it is somewhat heart-wrenching, what an opportunity the whole of Breightmet will have now...

Because from this day forward, Breightmet Wanderers AFC will be no more - as they have joined ranks with us 'over 'ere' and together, we become one. Breightmet United incorporates the our former neighbours into our family and with that comes opportunities for all of us. Increased availability to playing facilities. More members to our family. And the whole of Breightmet - OUR LOCAL AREA - committed to one common cause of which is to provide the best family-friendly facilities in the area for our players, supporters and members to enjoy...

Of course. The demise of any Club is sad. Especially when you actually look at the history and foundations behind the emergence of Breightmet Wanderers AFC and at one stage, Ken and Elaine Dolan had at least 15x different squads wearing the badge that Cameron Cleary, David Sheeran and Marcus Makin designed way back in 2009 - so a massive heartfelt hug goes out to the Dolans and everybody else that was part of forming such a formidable football club from literally 8x kids down at Top o'Brow School all those years ago...

But onwards and upwards. With the huge plans in place to progress our historic Club even further over the coming months/years, today's news is good news - and we all look forward to pushing Breightmet United Football Club to be THE Club that the local people want to play for and support..
