'Sorry for sounding ignorant guys but what are the three rings on the club crest?'

Well lo and behold - a few hours later and we're more than happy to share the reasons - soh here goes:

'The famous Breightmet United FC club badge has recently reverted back to the original contrast of black and white and this is in preparation for our 150th anniversary coming up in 2030.

There are five main components to our logo:

- Our name (obviously) The use of' United' typically symbolises coming together, community and team spirit.

- The date of our formation. We are proud of those that came before us and in having 1880 included in the badge shows our longevity, our history and the pride we have in our heritage.

- The central black vertical bars that represent the strength and stability within the Club, the unity of different pillars within Breightmet United FC and the bars differing in sizes to show growth and progression.

- The Football at the top - as this shows our football identity and sporting focus. It also provides tradition because it uses the classic pentagon-hexagon ball pattern.

- The three inter-linked rings are the most interesting element of our famous badge and these symbolise the unity of our players, the Club and the local community of Breightmet. It also shows strength through connection, teamwork and with the rings being linked together, they are solid and will always stay as one.
