The Management team just can't seem to get a break these days - with a 24/7 service being offered on everything - including Home Removals services and Fridge Freezer rescues - yes, defrosting, delivering and installing fridge freezers all over the place! and braving the frostbite, icy nipples and blue lips throughout the week to get the job done, it was great to be able to get back to doing what it is we all love - and that's the football!

Today we were welcoming our old friends from Horwich RMI to The Lane - and the young Lions put in yet another solid performance. We kept the opposition on the back-foot from the first-whistle - picking off the 'Wild Beasts' one by one - but it really could have been a full-on feast of zebras, gazelles and warthogs with the way our lads played today. Alright - some of our attacking wasn't as clinical as it has been of late - but we still ended up with a controlled and comfortable victory here today...

When called upon, our Oliver was solid and he gathered up whatever came his way - which gave the defenders and more attacking players the confidence to work their magic in front of him. Lee-Jay, Archie, Rio and Charlie-Ray rotated in our defence and they kept the backline strong throughout the game - being dependable as ever - and in the midfield and the attacking areas, we won most of the challenges. Reggie, Alby, Niko, Bradley, Danny and Lincoln were all over the pitch and must have covered every blade of grass at The Lane at least twice - showing their versatility and prowess when going forward. Sure - there's still room for improvement in execution - especially in the box - but the coaches are really happy with what they've been seeing from their Lions over recent weeks. We just need to be as ruthless as when Lions are in the wild and out on the hunt now...

Danny was the stand-out player today though - bagging himself a brace and playing a crucial role from start to finish - all earning him the Man of the Match award for his display out there. It was a real midfield masterclass from one so young - controlling the game with intelligent passing, tough tackling and two clinical finishes....

Lincoln got himself on the scoresheet as well - with a stunning strike - and he played with a confidence that reflected well on his family - particularly his Dad Shauny and Mum Gaynor! They've clearly been missing the talent after Shauny's Ping-Pong Tour of Thailand! Geyttttt Up Mush!

The Parent's Player of the Match Award was given to Alby Robinson - who produced a confident display and caused problems for the Horwich players whenever he got the ball. Holding the midfield well with his fellow Lions, he played like a star today - so well done Alby!

And that was that for another week! Another great game for the Lions and a massive shout-out to the fans from both sides that came down to cheer on their heroes this morning. It's always good to see you all there roaring the kids on - so hopefully we'll see you all again next week as well!
