Magpies started strongly on a difficult pitch with crisp passing and great movement between the lines.

Asher and Evan were aggressive on and off the ball by starting out Magpies significant number of attacks. They were both very alert and showed character & personality when under pressure by making great tackles and having the confidence to drive the ball forward and covering each other when Magpies were on the attack; they were exceptional in their constant communication to ensure the shape of the team was consistent. Both were a threat in corners and unlucky not to get on the scoresheet and when Asher eventually moved into midfield to provide stability and driving runs forward with the arrival of Rory who added steel to the backline and posed a great threat in set pieces.

Rory showed great composure on the ball throughout the contest by showing directness in his passes. He was solid and made great recovery runs when he came in at half time.

Our defensive unit provided solid cover to our standing goalkeeper.

Vissent was tidy in his distribution in both short and long passes by finding our electric wingers in the wide areas. Vissent also made descent saves on the rare occasion the opposition managed to create goal scoring chances throughout the game.

Jenson was picking pockets in midfield and feeding out our wide players and striker. He battled really hard in the middle of the pitch and used skill and speed of thought to find the right pass. Unlucky not to score despite creating several big chances.

Caleb & Saul tormented the opposition backline by constantly running in behind and beating their defenders in one to one situations which forced the opposition to commit a significant number of fouls on them. Their decision making in attacking situations were spot as they ran at right time and release the ball when required. They also fulfilled their defensive duties by tracking back and helping the backline.They were both unlucky not to get on the scoresheet due to the opposite goalkeeper being on top form. Both our wingers showed blistering pace and trickery throughout the game and ask a lot of questions of the opposition full backs. They were both pivotal in the four goals we have scored by giving constant support to our main striker Noah and taking on the set pieces.

Noah started the game on the front foot with his constant pressing which unsettled the opposite back line and was rewarding for it when he converted his spot kick early in the first half following a handball offence from the opposite defender.
Noah kept hassling the opposite defenders and was again rewarded with another goal from a set piece corner where Rory found the calmness to control the ball under pressure and lay onto our striker for a tap in. Noah added 2 more goals by full time to round off an exceptional display where he showed intensity in pressing, personality and ruthlessness in front of goal. He led the front line with great confidence.

The game ended 4-1 with a consolation goal conceded from a clean strike.
