Match Report: Breightmet United Magpies vs. Abraham Moss

The Magpies put in a strong and determined performance, starting the game on the front foot and dominating the early exchanges. However, Abraham Moss capitalized on counter-attacks and took advantage of defensive gaps to secure a comeback win.

First Half

Breightmet United started the game brightly, controlling possession and applying pressure early on. Hunter and Evan were solid in defence, with Hunter’s passing up the line creating attacking opportunities, while Evan put in some strong tackles to keep the opposition at bay.

Bash worked tirelessly in midfield, breaking up play and pushing the ball forward. On the right, Karez was quick and determined, while Noah held the ball up well in attack. Caleb battled hard on the left against their strong defender, showing great resilience.

Despite our early dominance, it was Abraham Moss who struck first. As we pushed higher up the pitch, they took advantage of the space in behind, breaking quickly on the counter to score the opening goal. This shifted the momentum, and their physical midfield started to cause us problems. A second goal followed as they drove forward and powered through our defence. Soon after, they added a third when a cross sneaked in at the near post—a soft goal to concede after our promising start.

Second Half

Determined to respond, the Magpies came out fighting in the second half. Jenson and Archie linked up well, with Archie growing in confidence and battling hard against much bigger players. His clever through ball found Noah, who finished well to pull a goal back at 3-1.

With confidence rising, we created chance after chance, forcing fine saves from their goalkeeper. We struck the post and the crossbar, and Archie nearly finished at the far post on multiple occasions. Despite our relentless attacking play, we struggled to get clean shots away.

Evan, Bash, and Hunter all drove forward from defence, trying to break through their backline. Caleb’s persistence on the right paid off when he kept a ball in play and delivered a hard-driven cross, forcing an own goal to bring the score to 3-2.

At the other end, Viscent didn’t have too much to do in goal, but when called upon, he made a couple of good saves and showed fantastic out-of-hand kicking to relieve pressure and launch counter-attacks.

Despite pushing for an equalizer, time ran out, and Abraham Moss held on for the win. The Magpies gave everything, showing incredible determination and heart until the final whistle.

Final Score:

Breightmet United 2-3 Abraham Moss
